I value the importance of the relationship between a client and a therapist. I think that a client wants a therapist to be someone who he or she can easily talk to about what is happening. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is a practical approach to change. I make use of a systems perspective which emphasizes how individuals relate to each other. With this in mind, I teach communication and problem solving skills. Using mindfulness practice, I promote focus on the here and now. This practice promotes development of skills which leads to a greater sense of well-being. I think a client can usually determine if I am helpful in one session.
